New York Times bestselling suspense author Kate White shares the three strategies that helped her reinvent her own career to help you!
About this Event

Do you feel like you’re spinning your wheels these days, stuck in the same place? Are you yearning for a change or a chance to totally reinvent things?

In this workshop, New York Times bestselling suspense author and former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Kate White shares the three strategies that helped her reinvent her own career, plus get unstuck at moments along the way. Surprisingly, they’re variations on the strategies mystery and thriller writers use to create page turners. That’s because Kate believes the techniques necessary to create propulsive books can also help generate momentum in life and work, leading to exciting insights and opportunities.

Registration fee covers the cost of one copy of Kate's newest novel, The Last Time She Saw Him.

Kate White is the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of eighteen novels of suspense, including 2024’s The Last Time She Saw Him. For fourteen years Kate served as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, which under her became the most successful magazine in single copy sales in the U.S. Though she loved her magazine career, she decided to leave ten years ago to concentrate full-time on another passion: writing suspense fiction. She is also the author of several bestselling career books, including I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This: How to Ask for the Money, Snag the Promotion, and Create the Career You Deserve, and the ground-breaking Why Good Girls Don’t Get Ahead but Gutsy Girls Do.

Verso University is the Library’s lifelong learning and education initiative, serving up year-round offerings of classes, workshops, and lectures designed to further education and learning. Offerings run the gamut of educational opportunities, ranging from one-time lectures to ongoing courses to classes that meet weekly or perhaps monthly.

Verso University programs are made possible by the generous support of the Nancy J. Beard Lifelong Learning and Education Fund.
