Panels and Pages explores the history and impact of comic strips on American culture. Starting in the 1800s and journeying to the modern newspaper strips and comic books, this talk will take you on a colorful journey through our illustrative past.A lifelong adventurer of imaginary worlds, Shannon Live knew her path would someday include advocating for creativity. As the Co-Founder and President of Bat City Comic Professionals, a 501(c)(3) educational organization, she creates comic-themed educational opportunities and resources that cultivate Reading, Writing, and Imagination Skills. Funding for their programming is primarily generated by the sale of comic books and related items at their Eisner-finalist store located in Bradenton, FL.
Entrance – Planetarium Lobby Doors. Doors open at 5:45pm.
6–7pm – To The Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA exhibition open for viewing
7–8pm – Shannon’s lecture, Panels and Pages: The History of Comic Strips! in the Planetarium Theater.
No drinks are allowed inside the gallery. Drinks are available for purchase and are allowed in the Planetarium Theater
