About this Event
We are thrilled to welcome Judge Derek Mosley back for his third Black History Month presentation at our Club. Last year he enthralled us with a recounting of many historical achievements and contributions made by African Americans that are often overlooked or ignored by historians and in the classroom. Plus,“foodie” that he is, we learned the stories behind the traditional African American foods we enjoyed during the program.
This year’s program will cover the same topic as Judge Mosley gives us “Part II” in what is sure to be another eye-opening, educational, thoughtful, and entertaining program. For many of us, our knowledge of the contributions of African Americans in America is limited. By presenting the stories of the unknown and underappreciated, he will help us to fully understand that Black History is indeed U.S. History. On this 60-minute journey, you will again meet people and hear stories that will amaze and inspire.
Judge Mosley is the Director of Marquette University Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education. The Center’s goal is to bring people of diverse backgrounds together to learn, listen, and find fellowship. Visit the website to explore the diverse offerings he oversees, all of which are open to the community.
