They Answered the Call: Gettysburg in the Revolutionary War

On June 24, 1775, dozens of young men gathered at Samuel Gettys’ tavern to enlist—marching from this small frontier community to join George Washington and the Continental Army. Some never returned home. Historian Ken Gavin tells the stories of these soldiers and their neighbors—ordinary people drawn into an extraordinary struggle for independence against the most powerful empire in the world.
The program will take place Friday, August 28th at 89 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m.
The dinner buffet will feature Dobbin House favorites including: chicken coq au vin, ham with pineapple raisin sauce, stuffed shells, green beans almondine, roasted red potatoes O’Brien, apple pie, pecan pie, and cheesecake.
