History Days at the Granary
In partnership with the Door County Granary and the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society, Larry Desotell and Rich Wolter present They All Had Names: A Civil War Musical.
This is the story of Union soldiers, Confederate prisoners, and a slave who interacted at Camp Randall in the Spring of 1862 and their modern ancestors who met at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. The music and script deals with such topics as the nature of freedom, the human cost of war and the experiences of both prisoners and their guards and how those experiences are viewed in modern times.
Some songs are upbeat, some sad, but all are inspiring.
This event is free and open to the public:
**Performance will be outside, weather permitting, please plan accordingly
**Attendees may bring their own chairs but chairs will be available
**Beer, wine, and concessions for sale at the Granary Wharf Cafe (all proceeds support the preservation of the Door County Granary)
**The Granary is an uninsulated indoor space, please dress accordingly
