Additional Info: Dogs allowed on leash. Park offers many trail variations if folks want to pivot to an easier / harder trail.

Parking: Mockingbird Hill Entrance ()

Trail selection: Buena Vista Trail to Virl O Norton Trail Loop. 4.3 miles, 744’ elevation gain. ()

Highlights include partly shaded sections, stunning viewpoints, and a well-maintained trail. Some challenging steep inclines. Reviewers recommend going counterclockwise for easier hiking.

10 Outdoor Essentials

1. Water bottle (filled. Minimum 1 liter per hour of hiking.)
2. Sun protection (sunscreen / hat / sunglasses)
3. Rain gear (coat at minimum)
4. Trail food (extra snacks)
5. First Aid Kit (small personal one is recommended)
6. Extra Clothing (layers for cold mornings / evenings)
7. Flashlight / headlamp (In case you get caught hiking after dark.)
