About this Event

Discussion for therapists about Unexplained Anomolous Phenomena

Interest in unexplained anomalous phenomena (UAPs formerly known as UFOs) has stepped out of the shadows somewhat. Fascinating films, documentaries, podcasts and news reports have sparked a whole host of reactions, including indifference, outright dismissal, and belief that non-human life not only exists but has a very real presence here on earth.

For fear of being diagnosed mentally unwell, a client might be wary of sharing their views and/or experiences. Perhaps you're as interested as me in getting together to explore, amongst other things:-

• our personal responses to this topic;

• how we might signal to clients we are open to hearing their experience;

• the anticipated ontological shock for therapists and clients in the event that

incontrovertible proof of non-human intelligence is disclosed;

• theories around the nature and presentation of unexplained phenomena

I remain open-minded about what might or might not be unfolding. More information on what has inspired me to try and address the stigma that can silence therapists and clients is at https://www.unhidden.org/

We intentionally keep our training groups small to allow for maximum comfort, engagement, and participation.

Facilitator Carole Hewitt qualified as a person centred counsellor in 2013 and has co-facilitated several anger management groups for clients at the counselling charity As You Are during her 10 years as a therapist with the organisation.
