LYR’s Therapeutic Arts Workshops utilize the exercises in our original therapeutic arts workbooks in a group setting with the guidance of LYR founder, Angela Page.
Each workshop offers opportunities for exploration and self-discovery via writing, visual art, music, and meditation. Course participants will each receive a copy of the workbook used during the workshop.
Workshop 1 utilizes Issue 14: Technical Difficulties, which contains 3 activities and 1 guided meditation all about reconnecting with yourself. The art direction for this issue is retro-futuristic, so all the activities incorporate computer tech from the 1990s.
Welcome to Love Your Rebellion Issue 14: Technical Difficulties. Here is a snapshot of the activities that will be offered during this workshop:
Activity 1 -Mercury in Vaporwave: reconnect with or redefine your identity using a series of prompts.
Activity 2 – Inspect the Element: confront and rewrite old scripts from negative thoughts to affirming thoughts.
Activity 3 – Reformat Your Hard Drive: guided meditation for finding and maintaining inner peace, even in the mindset of chaos.
Activity 4 – Update Your Software: a checklist to help with commitment to self-care.
