Course Tutors: Ann Carter, Dr Peter Mackereth, Paula Maycock & Tim Jackson.
Course Description: This course explores issues related to providing therapeutic and practical approaches for patients approaching the end of life as well as in the last few days of life. The focus will be on addressing complex symptoms such as breathlessness, consent issues, involvement of carers, consideration of spiritual issues, challenging conversations and end of life care. The course will include a blend of theory and practical hands-on techniques and approaches. Students will also be required to complete directed tasks and provide reflective feedback on the activities (approx. 4.5 hours).
Pre-requisite: Suitable for Complementary Therapists and Health Care Professionals working with end-of-life patients.
