What does it mean that our new pontiff is an Augustinian? Join Augustinian friar Fr. Philip Cook to explore these and other questions.
Fr. Philip was born and raised in Tennessee. A product of Catholic education, he graduated from Villanova University in 1990 with a BA in Classics and promptly entered the Order of St. Augustine, professing first vows in 1991. Further education led him to earn an MA in Classics and later a PhD in Classics from the University of Florida, Gainesville. His religious life has been spent in Catholic education in Illinois, Washington DC, and Oklahoma. He currently serves as headmaster at Cascia Hall here in Tulsa.
