Hošek Contemporary is pleased to host CIRCE: The Red Spiral, a performance by Theodoros Tsinias.
Saturday September 26, 2026 at 7:30 PM
CIRCE: The Red Spiral receives its world premiere in Berlin. Created and performed by New York–based multidisciplinary artist Theodoros Tsinias, the approximately 45-minute performance moves fluidly between improvisation and composition, open systems and structured frameworks. In the projected video, a body follows a moving white light and repeatedly traces a red spiral. As the projection gives way to live action, prerecorded sound interacts with improvised live percussion. Drawing on Circe as a symbolic force rather than retelling the myth, the work confronts the unstable relationship between the conditions that shape contemporary life and the ways we create, reinforce, and inhabit them—a reciprocal process that reshapes both those conditions and our relation to ourselves.
Concept, composition, performance, drums/percussion, and production: Theodoros Tsinias
Recordings: Liam Battle — violoncello, Grgur Savic — saxophones
Video editing: Sideris I. Nanoudis
Technical fabrication: Julian Solorzano & Sennuwy Johnson / Orange Paint Productions
Production assistance: Eli Tatyana Mubarak, Dr. George Vernardos, Lazaros Theodorakopoulos
Special thanks to Thanasis Psarros / Front Stage Sound
