theDock After Dark

When we are confined within the grey and white walls of the office, there are yet more walls – invisible to the eye though not the mind. The way we dress, the way we walk, the way we shake hands. Whether a boss or an equal, joviality must too be met with deference. To what end do the unspoken rules of speech and self-constitution serve? Who do they serve? More importantly, however, what do they exclude? We believe that the traditional social customs of the office space, all too often, serve to exclude authentic connection with the people we spend so much of our lives around.

This won’t do!

Breaking the walls, and in their place, building a new playground within which we can express ourselves with authenticity, this is what we strive to create. Not an office culture, but a common culture built by community.

theDock After Dark is an event that celebrates this authenticity, breaking from these stifling social customs in a stark manner! With office inspired performances from members of our community, and friends of the community, we’ll join together in pure joviality.

We have three pole dancers, three drag artists, and two burlesque performers, each of them prepared to deliver a barrier smashing office themed performance! We will also be raffling off a gift basket to raise funds for charity, with a lip sync battle between Tragic Mike and Sylvester Stalletto as they fight on behalf of two charities!

Due to the nature of this event, it will be a 19+ only event. Sorry, no children for this one!

Oh, and there may be a clown or two on site.

We will not be selling or serving liquor, though we invite guests to bring beverages and consume responsibly. Any inappropriate behaviour towards the performers or other guests will not be tolerated. Entertainment is best served alongside consent.
