Are you a director wanting to learn more about lighting?Are you great with actors, but terrified of tech? PTE can help!
LIGHTING FOR DIRECTORS is a 2-day intensive workshop with Scott Henderson & Ann Hodges
March 15 &16
10am - 6pm
This workshop will give directors an opportunity to explore and learn all about lighting.
We’re not aiming to train you to be a lighting designer, but will explore:
• lighting basics that every director should know
• how to train your eye to really ‘see’ lights
• how to ‘talk lights’ with a lighting designer, even before tech rehearsals
• how to approach setting levels, timings and use of colour
• what to do if you don’t have a designer (e.g. Fringe Festival, high school musicals)
• and much more
There will be some really fun hands-on projects through the weekend to help illuminate the principles we are exploring. We welcome one and all. There are no dumb questions. Come join us!

• Emerging and established theatre directors
• Emerging lighting designers curious about the director-designer relationship
• Fringe Festival Directors
• Drama Teachers
• Performers who would like to transition into directing
FEES:
This 2-day workshop is valued at $315/per person. However, PTE will subsidize ALL participants as part of our commitment to providing accessible educational opportunities to our community.

Scholarship $50 (limited number available, distributed by lottery)

Scholarship recipients will be notified as soon as possible (no later than March 10).
