The XY-Factor: Does Your Company Have the Winning Formula?

What is the secret sauce for the investment or success of an R&D innovation company? There must be an XY Factor or something else.

Some would argue it's all about good communication, great science, a strong management team, a solution for an unmet need, and meeting the right people. At Biotechgate Digital Partnering, we can help you meet the right people and communicate with the right people; the rest is up to you.

If you enter the XY-Factor Competition during Pre-JPM Partnering Week, Dec 2-6, you will have a pitch interview with the legendary Tony Sedgwick on Thursday, 5 December between 4-5.30 pm GMT (11am-12.30 pm EST). Please also keep Friday, 6 December, free between 4 and 5 pm GMT (11 am-12 pm EST), as this will be when the winner and runner-up of the XY-Factor will be announced on a special edition of #coffeebuddies. The XY Factor is produced through the cooperation of Biotechgate Digital Partnering, #CoffeeBuddies and Big4Bio.

Upon entering, give your availability for a “warm-up” interview and also your availability on Thursday, 5 December, for your pitched interview in the XY-Factor competition, to your representative, which is either Graham Combe at [email protected] or Tilton Little at [email protected]

The flow of the pitch interview and what we are looking for:

1) Who are you? What's your background and that of the team?

2) What is your current stage, and what is your investment situation?

3) What are your products, have you done any strategic deals, and why is your initiative unique?

4) What is your vision for the company, and what are you looking for to make this happen (regarding strategic partners and investors)?

Your investment for participating is £600 or $800 per entry plus the Eventbrite booking fee. For this you will get:

• A 20 min pre-event “warm-up” with Prof Tony Sedgwick and Graham Combe of #CoffeeBuddies
• A free Premium Entry to Biotechgate Digital Partnering
• An 8-minute interview pitch with Prof Tony Sedgwick followed by 4 minutes Q&A from investors, 12 minutes in total, on Thursday, 5 December
• An MP4 recording of your pitch interview to use for marketing

A total of up to 8 innovation companies will be involved in the XY Factor competition. The investor panel will independently select one winner and one runner-up and announce them on Friday, December 6, between 4 and 5 pm GMT / 11 am and 12 pm EST.

The Winner of the XY Factor will receive:

• A full-page write-up to be distributed on Biotechgate, Big4Bio and #CoffeeBuddies LinkedIn Newsletter
• A 1-year subscription to the Biotechgate database
• A special Q&A feature published on the Big4Bio website and shared Big4Bio’s eight regional daily newsletters
• Recognition of winning on social media by #CoffeeBuddies, Biotechgate and Big4Bio

The Runner-Up of the XY-Factor will receive:

• A half-page write-up to be distributed on Biotechgate, Big4Bio and #CoffeeBuddies LinkedIn Newsletter
