An embodied writing workshop on shaping narrative time to make moments land on page.
About this Event

An interactive writing workshop on rhythm, and the movement of time on the page.

Writer's Room: Make it Land: shaping pace on the page

Pacing is one of the most powerful tools available to writers. It shapes tension, attention, and emotional impact. It determines when readers lean forward and when they linger.

In this craft-focused writing workshop, we explore how writers control time inside a story and how small (structural) choices change the reader’s experience moment by moment.

Whether you are working on fiction, memoir, or exploratory journal writing, this session will help you work with the elasticity of narrative time and show how pacing turns moments into meaning on the page.

You will learn how pacing works technically, why it affects readers psychologically, and how to apply it immediately through guided exercises.

This is not a lecture-heavy evening. It is interactive, practical, and designed to strengthen your control over how your writing moves through guided practice while helping you express yourself more honestly.

The evening structure

18:30 Dinner is served
Dinner is available by pre-booking only. As part of our shared community experience, all plates are served together. Please arrive on time, as late arrivals may result in cold dishes. We cannot accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions. The daily menu is created based on fresh produce and is served as designed.

19:00 to 19:30-ish Craft Chat
An informal Q&A on all things writing. Bring your questions about structure, pacing, voice, publishing, or process.

19:30 to 21:00 Embodied Writing Workshop
We move into the guided session on pacing and rhythm on the page. Dropping in after the workshop begins is not recommended.

21:00-ish Closing Notes

You do not need a finished project.
You do not need to share aloud unless you want to.
You only need curiosity about how stories move.

Strong writing is not only about what happens.
It is about when we stay and when we move on.

Come write with time.

The workshop is held in English, but you are welcome to write in any language that feels like home.

Seats are limited.
