About this Event

We are proud to introduce The Write Stuff, a new series at Barnes & Noble Philadelphia created for aspiring authors looking to learn more about navigating the route from writing to publication. The Write Stuff provides advice for writers on a wide range of topics, including general writing tips, writing for various genres, finding an agent and getting your work published.

In this installment of The Write Stuff, fantasy authors Gregory Frost, J.E. Harter, and A.C. Wise share tips and tricks for aspiring fantasy writers, followed by a Q&A from the audience, and concluding with a quick writing exercise.

For Seated Tickets: Limited quantity is available and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase of a ticket guarantees entrance to the event for the discussion and signing. About the Authors:

is an American author of science fiction and fantasy, including the Shadowbridge series, Fitcher’s Brides, the Philip K. Dick-ian science fiction novel The Pure Cold Light, as well as two novels derived from the Celtic epic the táin bó cuailnge. is short fiction has appeared in many anthologies and magazines and includes a Best Novelette winner of Asimov’s Science Fiction’s Readers’ Award, “Lock Up Your Chickens and Daughters, H’ard and Andy Are Come to Town,” collaboratively written with Michael Swanwick. He taught the fiction writing workshop at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, for eighteen years.

is the adult high fantasy author of the Dark Magic Series. Writing is just one of her many occupations-- she is also a youth theatre teacher in NYC and owns the Cornerstone Bed & Breakfast in Philadelphia. "The Butcher and the Bard" Book 1 in the Dark Magic Series was her debut novel. Book 2 "Red Lands and Black Flames" released earlier this year, and Book 3 "Queen of the Shadow Menagerie" will be releasing October 2nd, 2024. She splits her time between Philly & NYC with her two cats, Simon & Ziggy.

is the author of the novels Wendy, Darling and Hooked, the novellas Grackle and Out of the Drowning Deep, and the short story collection, The Ghost Sequences, among other titles. Her work has won the Sunburst Award, and been a finalist for the Nebula, Stoker, World Fantasy, Locus, British Fantasy, Aurora, Shirley Jackson, and Ignyte Awards. In addition to her fiction, she contributes review columns to Locus and Apex Magazine.
