About this Event

The World Sinks Except Japan--percussionist/sound-designer Matt Stines and guitarist Josh Pollock (Gong, John Cale, Acid Mothers Temple, Gary Floyd, Van Dyke Parks)--was created to find the musical intersection point of Miles Davis, The Melvins, and Pink Floyd. This is the Record Release Party for their debut album, "In A Soylent Way", which also features guest marimba player Dennis Young of legendary NYC no-wavers Liquid Liquid, as well as local stalwarts Jeff Hobbs (clarinet, cornet) and Carolyn Davis (alto flute). Joining them will be audio advenurists Thomas Carnacki (featuring Cheryl E. Leonard).
