The Glenn Miller story is one of determination, innovation, and legacy. After an early setback, Glenn Miller launched his second band in 1938 — the same band that would change the landscape of American music forever. With hits like "In the Mood," "Moonlight Serenade," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," and "Tuxedo Junction," Miller’s unmistakable sound swept through ballrooms, radios, and concert halls, becoming the heartbeat of a generation.
At the height of his success, Miller made a selfless and patriotic decision — he disbanded his orchestra in 1942 to serve his country, leading the famous Army Air Force Band during World War II. Tragically, he disappeared over the English Channel in 1944 while en route to entertain U.S. troops in France, a mystery that has only added to the legend.
Thanks to the enduring demand for his music and the 1954 release of The Glenn Miller Story starring Jimmy Stewart, the Glenn Miller Orchestra was reborn in 1956 and has been touring the globe ever since. Now led by vocalist Nick Hilscher, the 18-piece ensemble performs original arrangements from both Miller’s civilian and military bands, alongside modern selections delivered in the signature Glenn Miller style.
