The Work that Reconnects (WTR) is a supportive framework to reawaken our connection to ourselves, each other and the world.It was developed by deep ecologist, scholar and activist, Joanna Macy, as a way to understand people’s feelings and empower them in the age of nuclear proliferation in the late 1970s. In recent years, WTR has become increasingly relevant to other contemporary issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and pollution.
WTR provides an opportunity to understand and express both our concerns and our love for the Earth and our societies, and to (re)discover and give shape to our hopes. Through our remembering and reawakening, we are able to go forth with new eyes and renewed purpose to contribute to a Life Sustaining Society.
This is an experiential workshop, involving solo processes as well as conversational and group processes.
The workshop is being facilitated by Emma Brindal and Em Maltby.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:
Emma Brindal is the founder of WiseEarth Education, which was established to nurture and build respect for our planet, through experiential earth connection programs. Emma is inspired by the ideas and practices of Deep Ecology, Place-Based Education and the Work that Reconnects; and believes that understanding the interconnectedness of all life through experience is key to bringing about a Life Sustaining Society for all beings.
Em Maltby works with community groups, adults and young people to create opportunities to enjoy, connect with, and support the Earth and each other. She's worked with schools, local governments and grassroots movements - always keeping people, their wellbeing and their relationship with the Earth at the forefront of her mind and heart. Em first encountered the Work That Reconnects in a friend's bookshelf (!) and has been passionate about sharing its wisdom and strength with others for over 10 years.
