The City of Green Inclusion & Belonging Committee, in partnership with Green Local Schools, is hosting a panel discussion celebrating the women behind the construction of Green’s new educational facilities. The event, The Women Who Built Green’s New Schools, is Thursday, September 25 at 5:30 pm at Green Middle School, 1711 Steese Road. The panel highlights the contributions of local leaders in design, education, and public service who played key roles in shaping the City’s newest school buildings:
Alana Niemec, Assistant Superintendent, Green Local Schools
Melinda Scalfaro, Architect and Partner, Sol Harris Day
Valerie Wax Carr, Service Director, City of Green
Moderator Hana Lowe, Co-Chair, Inclusion & Belonging Committee
Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to tour the newly constructed Green Middle School and The CORE facility.
The moderated panel features stories of behind-the-scenes decision-making, design creativity, and leadership challenges. Community members are encouraged to attend, engage with the panelists, and learn more about the city’s commitment to inclusive growth and excellence in education.
