Our ongoing Movie Buffs series is joining forces with our annual MUSICAL MAY series at the historic #babcocktheatre to bring you two FREE ADMISSION showings of Victor Fleming's 1939 adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ! One of the ultimate grandaddies in the field of musical epics, this kaleidoscopic fantasy film weaves a whimsical tale through the use of incredible set design, detailed makeup, technical effects, and a beautiful blend of black and white and color film (one of the very first films officially shot in the three-strip Technicolor film process!)! When Dorothy is transported to the wonderful world Oz, she makes friends with a scarecrow, tin man, and lion as they all go to seek the Wizard in the Emerald City to wish for the things they miss most in their lives- but to make it their alive, they must evade the nefarious Wicked Witch of the West!
