Vibrations reminiscent of days past, energy cultivated in the purest form. The Wilted Plums pair an inclusive audience-forward experience with mind boggling, soulful instrumentation. Leaving no stone unturned in terms of consistency, drive, and creativity.The Wilted Plums won first place at Hoppin’ John Fiddlers Convention Fall '23. The collective contains musicians of the highest caliber. Chase Christopher (guitar/vocals) has taken home first in three guitar competitions within the last two years in the city of Pittsboro, NC. Gabe Soilaeu (bass/vocal) graduated from New England Conservatory of Music, gaining a degree in Jazz Upright Bass. Playing with many professional ensembles throughout his time. Simon Dunson (mandolin/vocals) has placed first in many mandolin competitions consecutively over the past few years. Studying within the New England Conservatory, Simon graduated within the study of Jazz Mandolin. Mikael Templeton (tenor saxophone) has studied music for the majority of his life, earning degrees aimed towards tenor saxophone and years of experience performing with many notable jazz ensembles.
Hailing from separate parts of North Carolina, the collective coincidentally conversed deep in the hills of Galax, VA in the fall of '22. Spawning a fan-favorite collaboration known as The Wilted Plums.
