Join us for a unique opportunity to bring urban and rural food, farming and environmental justice work together with farmer/mentor Will Allen at WEI’s Amador Hill Farm and Orchard. 2025 is WEI’s 15th year hosting this collaborative, community-building event!

Join us for all the nutrient-rich composting you know and love, farmer-forward panels, hands-on foraging walks, report-outs about what’s happening on the policy front, youth and intergenerational voices, and getting to know regional partners in the fight for safe and sovereign ground! Get in on the fun and ferocity of community-rich tactics for the coming seasons!
During this two-day event, we’ll be hosting panelists from across Turtle Island to guide us in how to foster equitable relationships with ourselves and our work, with the soil, plants, and beings around us, and farming/food justice favorites such as composting, aquaponics, and Indigenous plant medicine walk and talk.
Sunday’s full-day workshop is totally devoted to composting taught by Will Allen. The workshop will demonstrate hands-on use of urban-friendly compost bin and a larger compost winrow, using a scientifically balanced approach to creating nutrient-rich garden beds. These methods transform urban “waste” into rich, healthy soil for producing fresh, nutritious food for our communities. Learn more about Will’s composting methodology in this video.
