Ginger Wildheart is returning to Cambridge in 2025, with The Wildhearts full band show on Saturday 8th March, alongside a brilliant supporting cast of Jim Jones All Stars and Dirtbox Disco!
For almost 2 decades The Wildhearts have remained at the forefront of the British rock scene. From their classic début album Earth Vs (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! Back in 1993, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! Special in 2006), through to 2007’s self titled record (10/10 Rocksound, 5/5 The Sun), their creative output and legendary live shows have been second to none.
Although the 90’s saw the band covered like a living soap opera in the press with tales of sex, drugs, bust ups, fights (both with labels and themselves), splits, more drugs and a lot more controversy (one such incident including entering and then proceeding to trash the Kerrang! Offices!), the last 2 years have seen the band more focused than ever before and firing on all cylinders.
Main support on this date are the rockin’ groovin’ sounds of Jim Jones All Stars! A bubbling swamp curse of unholy rhythm, Jim Jones All Stars is the latest project from garage godfather Jim Jones (TheeHypnotics, The Jim Jones Revue). Formed during the pandemic, it features The Jim Jones Revue members Gavin Jay and Elliot Mortimer, drummer Aidan Sinclair, veteran punk blues guitarist Carlton Mounsher (TheSwamps) ,and a full horn section (Tenor Saxophonist Stuart Dace and Baritone Saxophonists Tom Hodges and Chuchi Malapersona).
Opening up across the tour are Dirtbox Disco! Dressing like rejects from a fancy dress convention for idiots, but armed with a multitude of short, sharp glam-pop-punk-rock songs and tunes, nothing stands in the way of the Dirt Box Disco, 4 musical super Hero/Villains on a mission to amuse or abuse anyone who will listen.
