Toronto Branch is hosting an advanced-level, full-day workshop on Y-DNA testing , led by David Vance, a worldwide expert on Y-DNA and vice-president of FamilyTreeDNA.Y-DNA is passed down from father to son, and can be a big help to genealogists researching direct paternal lines. Develop your skills and deepen your understanding of the Y-DNA test and its potential uses with sessions on the latest from FTDNA, testing options and resources, and the benefits of joining group projects.
This in-person workshop will be held at Lansing United Church in north Toronto. Bring your own lunch or visit one of a number of nearby eateries.
The cost for the day is $85 (or just $70 for OGS members).
To get the most out of the workshop, attendees should have experience with genetic genealogy. We also strongly recommend that you already have Y-DNA results for yourself or a male relative.
