Fueled by stimulants, a love of funk music and the need to compensate for something, Four life long friends set out to travel the country competing to embarrass each other and rope unsuspecting strangers into their escapades. Is this Tru TV’s Impractical Jokers? No this is The Whips! Hailing from the longitudinal center of the United States, The CEOs of Midwestern Funk continue to cruise the sweet freeways of the U.S. of A. to swap sweat (and more?) with fans of the high stakes funk pop filled with both hooks AND grooves so syncopated that they reset all clocks in a 40 mile radius. They also surf the waves of the web with their rapidly accumulating internet following gained from viral videos of their funkiest moments. Build a song? that was them! Call and response game? That was them! The Hindenburg disaster? no comment. Each member of The Whips have pledged their life, and the life of their first born child to the pursuit of high energy funk that makes your toes tingle and they have NO BACK UP PLAN! They’re so funky, sweaty and mildly famous online, so what are you waiting for? STREAM THEIR STUFF! BUY A TICKET! OUT OF CASH? SELL YOUR BONES! Join The Whips today and recruit two friends to be your own boss!

From the outskirts of DC, a group of young men with a mutual love of funk, pop, and soul came together to breathe sensuality into new original music. Starting with their 2021 debut single, “I Want You To Know”, Strutman Lane’s rhythm guitar hooks, warm vocals, and driving sax lines cater pocket grooves to the soul.
After releasing their 2022 debut EP, the home-recorded “Bedroom Sessions”; headlining Union Stage and opening for Melt at the 9:30 Club in 2023; and releasing a couple viral Tik Toks playing music hitched to a truck at a McDonalds drive-thru, Strutman Lane has their sights set higher. To kick off 2024, Strutman Lane headlined Black Cat DC, and will now take on their biggest project yet: a professional album recorded at Bias Studios in VA. Starting with their first single, a funk cover of “Lavender Haze” by Taylor Swift - driven by three-part harmonies, powerful horn lines, tight grooves, and synth solos - this project promises to be their most ambitious entry into the soul-pop arena. For better or for worse, Strutman Lane will make you rethink your life choices.
Follow Strutman Lane on Spotify, Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube to stay up to date with the band's adventures! Ready to come along for the ride?
