The Whakatipu Legend Winter Swim
Advertisement
From the beautiful frosty Queenstown Beach, swimmers will plunge (or paddle) into Lake Whakatipu.
If the air temperature is cold enough, it will feel almost like a welcome relief, that is until the icy water starts to suck the heat from your body…
It’s a simple out and back in the deep blue. You can either splash it out as fast as possible, or, preferably, embrace the cold, slow the breathing down and enjoy the moment.
-Saturday, 11th July 2026
-Queenstown Bay Beach, Queenstown
-Water temperature ranges from 8 to 10 degrees Celsius
-The Frigid 500m
-The Bone Chilling 1000m
