Help create a Winter Glade at Brooklands Park this February - or come and drink a brew with the community...
It’s tree growing season and we’re excited to be supporting the Friends of Brooklands community with their Winter Glade Project at Brooklands Park.
As part of the ongoing Brooklands Park masterplan, the Winter Glade is designed to playfully imitate the Rampion wind turbines with colourful windmills, which you can already see as you stroll through the park.
Alongside these, the Winter Glade will also include trees that continue the windy theme, as well as plants that add a splash of colour throughout the wintry months.
This is where we step in.
Working with Friends of Brooklands and Pollinator Pioneers CIC, our February Campfire Community Social will take place at Brooklands Park. We’ve offered to bring a crew of Wellderfolk to help put the trees and plants in the ground, and to extend our monitoring programme that seeks to leave a lasting legacy.
As we’re in a public place, there won’t be a campfire. There will, however, be brews, our community, and plenty of nature. There will also be the choice to get involved as much or as little as you like. You can help with the planting. You can drink a brew with the community. Or you can spend some time in nature and simply be.
We’ll hold the space. You can choose what to do with it.
This event is free to attend. Please register your interest, so we know how many people to expect.
Car parking is available in the pay and display car park - you will need to pay for your parking. Blue Badge holders can park for free in designated disabled bays only for up to 3 hours. Normal tariff applies in standard bays. The park is also accessible by public transport, with several buses stopping near the park from either direction.
