The Weeping Willows:
3 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ and 2021 Australian Folk Music and Music Victoria Award winners, The Weeping Willows (Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth) are a couple of old souls, steeped in Bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery. They regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. Real Music.
2017-2021 saw The Weeping Willows nominated for 10 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, 4 x Country Music Channel (CMC) awards, 2 x Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), Live Act of the Year (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs), performing at AmericanaFest (USA), Folk Alliance International (USA), Maverick Festival (UK), Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, Out On The Weekend and the Australian Americana Music Honours. In recent years they have supported Lukas Nelson & POTR (USA), Hayes Carll (USA), Iris DeMent (USA), Eilen Jewell (USA) and Willie Watson (USA) and completed national and international tours in support of their sophomore album, Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’, which received four-star reviews in Rolling Stone, The Australian and The Music. A Weeping Willows performance, whether live on location or caught on tape will always delight.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s - “Australian Alt. Country at its near-finest...” - Rolling Stone.
Terra Lightfoot:
Canadian roots rocker Terra Lightfoot is a ferocious talent. Her songs tap into the raw emotion of hearts supercharged by love, loneliness and temptation. Her playing melds expert finger-picking and distorted, hook-heavy
melodies. And her elemental voice commands attention and awe, whether on slow-burning soul ballads or hard- charging rock numbers.
Terra released her self-titled debut album in 2011; its critically acclaimed follow-up, 2015’s Every Time My Mind Runs Wild, marked the artist’s arrival as a striking songwriter and compelling live performer. 2017 brought two new albums: the orchestral collaboration Live in Concert and her third studio album, New Mistakes, the latter nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2018 JUNO Awards and long-listed for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize.
Shot through with the guitarist-vocalist’s powerful, bluesy soul, vivid lyrics and six-string virtuosity, New Mistakes earned praise from the likes of No Depression, Pop Matters, Guitar Player, and CBC Music. The accompanying 221- date tour touched down in eight countries across four continents. The artist also conceived, created, curated,
produced and co-headlined The Longest Road Show, an all-female musical event that showcased emerging talents, an exceptional backing band, and charismatic headliners in several inspiring and unforgettable nights of song.
In October 2020, Terra Lightfoot returned with her much anticipated follow-up, Consider the Speed, recorded by Grammy-winning producer Jay Newland at Memphis's legendary Royal Studios.
“One of Canada's best all-around musicians... an amazing tour de force, the complete package” - CBC Music.
