Μια ταινία 52 λεπτών σε σκηνοθεσία της Alexandra Routhiau Mikaélian.
Μια Γαλλίδα αρμενικής καταγωγής, υποσχέθηκε στον παππού της να βρει τα μέλη της οικογένειάς τους στην Τουρκία με βάση ένα όνομα: Sahimé, την αδελφή που δεν γνώρισε ποτέ. Μέσα από αυτό το ταξίδι στο χρόνο αναζητώντας τους ζωντανούς, η Alexandra θα αποκαλύψει ένα από τα πιο βαθιά ριζωμένα ταμπού της τουρκικής κοινωνίας, για το οποίο ακόμα και σήμερα κάποιος διακινδυνεύει τη ζωή του.
Αυτή είναι η ιστορία εκατομμυρίων Αρμενίων και Τούρκων, αυτών που ονομάζονται «κρυμμένοι Αρμένιοι» ή «τα απομεινάρια του σπαθιού», απόγονοι των γυναικών και των παιδιών που προσηλυτίστηκαν και ενσωματώθηκαν με τη βία στον τουρκικό πληθυσμό κατά τη διάρκεια της Γενοκτονίας των Αρμενίων. Για πρώτη φορά, αφηγούμαστε τις χαμένες ιστορίες αυτών των γυναικών θυμάτων της γενοκτονίας, αυτών των «Αρμενίων γιαγιάδων» που μετέδωσαν τις ιστορίες τους με ψίθυρους.
Η Alexandra Routhiau Mikaélian είναι Γαλλίδα συγγραφέας, σκηνοθέτης και παραγωγός Αρμενικής καταγωγής. Μετά από δέκα χρόνια ως δημοσιογράφος σε Γαλλικά εθνικά τηλεοπτικά κανάλια, φοίτησε στη σχολή «La Fémis» και άρχισε να δημιουργεί και να παράγει τα δικά της ντοκιμαντέρ. Τώρα, ως δημιουργός ντοκιμαντέρ, επικεντρώνει το έργο της στη μνήμη της Αρμενικής διασποράς. Μια μορφή κινηματογραφικής θεραπείας που πλαισιώνεται από τη διασταύρωση οικογενειακών ιστοριών και παγκόσμιας ιστορίας. Πέρα από τα συναισθήματα, ο κινηματογράφος τής επιδιώκει το όνειρο της δημιουργίας ταινιών που ενώνουν τους ανθρώπους και χτίζουν γέφυρες μεταξύ των λαών.

Armenians, ‘The Hidden Grandmothers’
(‘La Mémoire dans les Veines’)
A 52-minute film directed by Alexandra Routhiau Mikaélian.
A French woman of Armenian descent, she made a promise to her grandfather to find their family members in Turkey based on a first name: Sahimé, the sister he never met. Through this journey through time in search of the living, Alexandra will lift the veil on one of the most deeply rooted taboos in Turkish society, one for which one still risks one's life.
This story is the story of millions of Armenians and Turks, those called the ‘hidden Armenians’ or ‘the remnants of the sword,’ descendants of the women and children converted and forcibly integrated into the Turkish population during the Armenian Genocide. For the first time, we are telling the missing stories of these women victims of the genocide, these ‘Armenian grandmothers’ who passed on their stories in whispers.
Alexandra Routhiau Mikaélian is a French writer, director, and producer of Armenian descent. After ten years as a journalist for French national television channels, she attended ‘La Fémis school’ and began creating and producing her own documentaries. Now as a documentary filmmaker, she focuses her work on the memory of the Armenian diaspora. A form of film therapy framed by the intersection of family stories and universal History. Beyond emotions, her cinema pursues the dream of making films that bring people together and build bridges between peoples.
