About this Event

Made on a micro-budget in a literal backyard set built in Austin, this indie labor-of-love directed by Jake Binstock and Parker Rouse boasts full period costumes and production design, stunts, pyrotechnics, period-accurate dildos, and flying old men.

A delightful mix of highbrow and low, this adaptation of the fourth oldest comedy known to mankind lovingly combines Chicago-style footnotes with stoner fart comedy. Called Clerks in Ancient Greece, the film has offended and delighted audiences, causing rapturous guffaws and disgusted walkouts in equal measure.

“Behold, a little miracle. THE WASPS is a couple thousand years old and also perhaps the future of indie filmmaking. So much passion and panache, all in the literal backyard.” -Andrew Bujalski
