The Wanderer - Sarshar Ghozat

This concert presents The Wanderer, the debut piano album of Sarshar Ghozat. 🎹
Born in Tehran in 1999, his path has since unfolded across Europe over the past decade, beginning at the age of 16, when he first arrived as a selected young talent. 🌍✨
He studied at the conservatories in Budapest and Vienna, before completing his Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. 🎓
Budapest, Vienna, Ghent, Brussels, Copenhagen, Mallorca, Paris, and Warsaw — moving between countries, languages, and ways of life. ✈️ Each place carries its own logic of reality, and the experience becomes that of a kind of musical wanderer: constantly shifting between languages, listening, re-learning, and re-interpreting reality itself, while slowly re-forming a sense of home.
Out of this shifting ground emerges a single idea that holds everything together: music as the only constant, a quiet thread through changing worlds, languages, and identities. 🎶
The project is shaped less by arrival than by passage, tracing what remains when one reality dissolves into another, and how experience is carried, transformed, and re-imagined in sound. 🌫️
The programme consists primarily of original compositions for piano, alongside a number of classical piano pieces and reworkings, forming an entirely self-contained musical world — where virtuosic piano writing meets a more experimental and free sound. 🎼
Performed on both a Yamaha concert grand piano and a prepared Buffet piano, the concert becomes a dialogue between two sonic palettes. 🎹🎛️
More than a concert, this evening is the first ever public presentation of The Wanderer — a rare opportunity to encounter the project before its official recording and international concert tour. 🌟
The album is supported by Yamaha Corporation, Quatre Mains Pianos, and the Belgian National Orchestra. 🎻 It will be recorded in Brussels in the fall of 2026, at the Atelier BNO, the new rehearsal hall and recording studio of the Belgian National Orchestra and Bozar. 🏛️
The support show will be Ghozat and Moon, a new piano duo project by Sarshar Ghozat and Iskander Moon 🌙
