The Walkabout | Ventura
About this Event
What's a Walkabout?
It's a group beach walk. With a really good playlist. That's the whole thing. We hand out headphones, so everyone hears the same track at the same time and the whole group moves together. For sixty minutes, we walk, stretch a bit, and move however we want.
Expect some simple movement games, good music, and the joy of feeling like a human again. Most people come alone. You don't have to talk to anyone — you can do the whole hour without saying a word, and the headphones make that normal. Or, stick around after for a dip and a blanket.
Hosted by Erin Rose Ward and JP Labrosse. Created in collaboration with Lena George.
What happens
4:45 — Meet at the public parking lot at Surfers Point.
5:00 — An easy walk south on the sand toward the pier, with some simple movement games along the way. About 1 mile total.
6:15 — Back where we started. Headphones off. Cold drinks, big beach blankets, music. Swim, stay, or head out whenever you like.

Before you Book
This is a prototype of a new kind of group experience. We'll ask you to fill out two short surveys, about five minutes each. We want the honest version — especially if you didn't like it. That's more useful to us than praise.
