About this Event
5-methoxy-DMT (5-MeO-DMT) is an atypical, highly potent psychedelic compound that is radically unlike most other psychedelics. Instead of rich, colourful hallucinations, 5-MeO induces a unique subjective experience that is intense, yet free of phenomenal content – a pure "white-out" experience, where one is conscious yet not conscious of anything, that challenges preconceptions in consciousness science and the neuroscience of psychedelics. In this talk, we will discuss the first study of the neural signatures of 5-MeO in the human brain, uncovering more of its unique properties, and linking it to sleep, dreams, and non-dual awareness meditation.
