Welcome to the Voice Squad Summer Party!
A final celebration for Birgitta's last day at the helm of Voice Squad, before the wonderful Bethany Barber takes over alongside her fab sister Jessica, supported by Rob Cross, Sarah and John Sheehan, and our awesome Support Squad.
Date: Saturday 11th July 2026
Venue: Blackbourne Community Centre, Elmswell, IP30 9UH
Arrival: From 3.45pm
Carriages: 11.30pm

What’s happening?
Bar • Fish & Chip Van • Ice Cream Van • Two singing performances • Madness & Mayhem team games • Free cake • Alumni catch-ups • Socialising with current members and families • Music, dancing and more TBC!
Team Games
Forget traditional games; think Ladybird Snooker (with half-balls),Cheese String Rounders (with flexi bats), 3-Legged Curling, Olympic-style object hurling (measured with an elastic tape!), team chants… you get the idea.
The focus is hilarity—and the winning team may or may not receive some old tat as a prize. Please bring appropriate footwear and a sense of humour. We’ll share more details nearer the event.
Singing
Cadets (Barmy Army & Bethany’s Brigade) will perform a short early evening set.
Later, Seniors will sing, followed by a chance for Alumni to join in for a big sing together.
Food & Drink
Fish & Chips, Ice Cream and drinks from the bar will be available to purchase from 4.30pm.
Vegetarian options available.
Timings
4.00pm – Event begins
4.15–5.30pm (ish) – Team Games (outdoors if weather permits; indoors if needed, which may mean two sessions depending on numbers)
5.45pm – Cadets warm up
6.15–6.45pm (ish) – Cadets perform, followed by cake
8.00pm – Alumni rehearse, then social time
9.00pm – Seniors & Alumni perform, followed by cake and social time
11.30pm – Event ends
We’ll need a few details when you book:
1. Arrival time
Mainly for catering purposes - please let us know roughly when you expect to arrive. Stay as long as you like!
2. Dietary requirements (optional)
Please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs.
3. Alumni Choir
Would you like to sing with us in the evening? Let us know when booking. We’ll send details nearer the time, with music and recordings shared via Dropbox to help revive those memory cells.
There’ll be an informal rehearsal on the day and word sheets will be allowed, chaos expected.
4. Song requests
Any favourite old Voice Squad songs you’d love to hear again or sing with the Alumni Choir? Let us know!
As this is not a formal rehearsal/performance, there will be no chaperones, so children must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees, including Squaddies, require a ticket (£5pp).
All current Squaddies, former Squaddies, and family and friends of Voice Squad from every era are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate this final hurrah!
