About this Event

Provisional timings for the programme:

8.30am: Registration and Coffee

9.00am - 10.30am: Simultaneous Learning

Paul Harris’ concept of Simultaneous Learning is now a recognised and highly regarded form of teaching worldwide. This exciting, imaginative and holistic approach encourages students to learn positively, effectively and independently. It turns the old-fashioned ‘reactive’ style of teaching (pupils play, make mistakes and teacher corrects) on its head. This inherently practical way of teaching allows you, as teacher, to get the best out of all your pupils and include all the core skills within a standard lesson time. In this stimulating presentation you will discover techniques that enable pupils to develop much more fully as musicians.

11.00 am - 12.30pm: Being a virtuoso teacher

Based on his ground-breaking book, this inspiring presentation will explore how a teacher might attain virtuoso status! Paul Harris delves into the core issues of being a teacher and the teaching process, encouraging everyone to consider themselves in a new light and how they can transform their teaching.

1.30 - 3.00pm: Unconditional teaching

Paul Harris’ ground-breaking and inspirational new approach encourages teachers to explore and transform how they teach. Paul identifies and reimagines the barriers or ‘conditions’ that can stand in the way of effective teaching, to allow for the most immersive and positive learning experience. Ideas are tackled from both a practical and psychological perspective, rooted in Paul’s renowned Simultaneous Learning methodology. For teachers of all disciplines and learners of all ages, this seminal talk will begin your journey towards an unbounded, unconditional way of teaching.

3.00 - 3.30pm: Q&A

Please note that tickets purchased are non-refundable.
