Calling all lovers, friends, and everything in between.The first in a series of conversations, Side A is an intentionally curated space for the Black queer non-monogamous community. Together we will explore collective meanings of intimacy, autonomy, pleasure, desire, commitment, sexuality and performance as it relates to non-monogamy. Join us on Friday, August 21st. 6-8pmSide A Created from a desire to connect in creative inquiry and connective storytelling, these gatherings will host a series of conversations for the Black and Brown queer community to explore various topics ranging from non monogamy and intimacy, to desirability and performance. Through discussion, embodied movement, and artistic painting, photography, music, writing, film), the Velvet Atelier will be used to inspire individual and collaborative expression, curating settings of communal reflection where we learn from each other to better understand ourselves. About UsThe Velvet Atelier is an interdisciplinary sanctuary for black and brown queer community in Philadelphia to gather in inquiry and creative praxis, exploring queered ways of loving, desire, intimacy, and meaningful connection. Through connective storytelling mediums, movement, guided conversations and collaboration, we’re curating a realm where vulnerability meets curiosity, honesty is held unprejudiced and with reverence, and love is enlivened en masse TVA prioritizes accessibility and community connection.
