Because it’s inhumane to torture and K*ll millions of animals when there is no need for it! Because it’s inhumane to disrespect and discriminate the Indigenous Australians by celebrating the country on an offensive date for them.
This is our traditional event to celebrate Australia in a truly compassionate way!
All cultures in Australia united with our Original Australians in a joined peaceful celebration of everything that is Australia today!

We will have another fun “Cruelty Free” Celebration of Australia!
The Vegan Society of Queensland Team is inviting everybody to celebrate Australia Day before the Government's officially designated "Australia Day Celebration” date, out of respect and solidarity to all Indigenous Australian groups – as many indigenous communities have asked for.
Every year, over 33,000,000 lambs live miserable and tortured lives for the sole purpose to be cruelly killed and consumed – particularly during events like The Australia Day celebrations. This is horrible animal exploitation!
So, by Celebrating Australia Day the Vegan way we send a clear and strong message to the rest of Australia (and the world) that there is no need to cause pain to defenceless creatures or to participate in the destruction of our natural environment – both a result of animal farming.
The Vegan Australia Day is a true celebration of life and we choose to pave the way for an environmentally friendly, happy, clean and cruelty-free celebration of Australia and all other special dates.
There will be an official opening ceremony with an acknowledgement of country, vegan lunch feast and BBQ, short presentations, live music performances, family and kids' activities, thong throwing contest, sports competitions, give away prizes and more. This is a FREE Community event by The Vegan society of Queensland and in partnership with Vegos Fun, The Brisbane Vegan Bikers, The Cruelty Free Games, Vegan tribe, and Artivity Publishing. Donations and volunteers are welcome.

Just a reminder that all VSQ’s team members, supporters, volunteers and guests are to follow VSQ’s Code of Conduct at this event. Only Vegan food and drinks are consumed at these events.
