Deep within the shadowed nexus of Vancouver’s Covenant circle did coalesce Egregore, a strange, jabbering off-shoot from the minds of practitioners drawn from bands such as Mitochondrion, Reversed, Ruinous Power, Auroch, Garrotting Deep, and other pillars of the Canadian underground. Active since 2019, this mystical oddity plunged into transcendence to devise a unique current of occult black/death metal.
Egregore first materialized in recorded form with their debut demo, The Word of His Law (2022), a demented work seeking to fuse arcane Floridian death metal with flavours from Hellenic, Italian, Brazilian, and myriad forms of esoteric atmosphere. This demo hinted at a broader mythology and thoughtform universe in motion.
In March 2026, Egregore took the metal underground by storm with the release of It Echoes In The Wild. Lauded and commended by a countless number of reviewers, the record underscores the arrival of a band entering their prime.
