About this Event

The UPC is now one year old and the Court has been very busy handling nearly 400 cases filed within its first year. Whilst we await the first UPC substantive decisions to be issued, AIPPI (UK) is very pleased to be hosting in London on 27 June 2024 a number of UPC practitioner speakers from across Europe to celebrate the first year, and we welcome our members and non-members to join us. The speakers shall debate and discuss the activities of the first year of operations, focussing on the court operation and various substantive and procedural topics. Simmons & Simmons has kindly agreed to host the event in their auditorium.

We are pleased to welcome the following speakers who have all been highly active with the Court:

· Wim Maas (Taylor Wessing) – NL

· Tilman Mueller Stoy (Bardehle Pagenberg) - DE

· Agathe Michel-de Cazotte (Carpmaels & Ransford) – UK/FR

· Emmanuel Gouge (Pinsent Masons) – FR – now soon to be a UPC Court of Appeal judge

The event will be chaired by Kevin Mooney (Simmons & Simmons), who as many will know, has been instrumental in the UPC project from its inception, and who has been following many of the developments during the first year of its operation.
