About the Artists

After performing with her band at Bristol Rhythm + Roots Reunion in September, Katie Powderly heads to Knoxville to share her blend of bluegrass and folk in support of her latest stripped-down, acoustic release, an EP entitled Live by the Song, Die by the Song, which features memorable singles "Tobacco" and "My Mourning Dove." A number of Knoxville artists have recorded on her first album, Slips of the Tongue, including Josh Oliver (Watchhouse), Tom Pryor (The Black Lillies) and Jill Andrews. Mike McGill has been a full-time singer/songwriter and musician for the past 25 years. He got his start learning to sing in church and furthered his learning of music in school where he was voted Most Talented, marching/concert band choir, and Singers President in both his junior and senior years.

He then started his professional career with the band White Oak Flats, performing daily in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Since then, Mike has performed in 28 states and 6 different countries as a founding member of the classic coutnry band The Drunk Uncles, the Honky Tonk band Barstool Romeos, and lead singer and electric guitar player for The Cat House Profits. He has shared bills with noteworthy acts such as J.D. Crowe and the New South, Doyle Lawson, Junior Brown, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Southern Culture on the Skids, Corb Lund, The KY Head Hunters, Blackberry Smokes, Shooter Jennings, John Anderson, Marty Stuart, Chris Stapleton, and Sturgill Simpson.

Currently, he fronts his own project Mike McGill and The Refills.
