Friday 27th February 2026 - The Ultimate Blind Eye Wishbone Ash Tribute
Whittles@tokyo, 57 Roscoe Street, Oldham, OL1 1EA
Doors & Bar open 7pm - Band on stage 9pm
Blind Eye are the UK's definitive tribute to Wishbone Ash, fronted by John Angus, well respected original artist in the UK blues rock scene, who has been wanting to do this tribute to his favourite band from the seventies for many years, and finally it's happened.
John is the main vocalist and penned "The Voice" sounding just like Martin Turner in his early years, also plays lead guitar, taking the role of Andy Powell his flying V hero.
John is joined by bass player and harmony vocals, Ian Bland as Martin Turner and fellow guitarist Anthony Garwood, a young player who really has perfected the role of Ted Turner.
Everyone expects those glorious twin guitar harmonies and that is what is on offer.
Last but not least, on drums, the band are driven along by Peter Hopkins, solid as a rock rhythm man who also plays in John's original outfit. Pete had not discovered Wishbone Ash until recently and was soon converted as Steve Uptons shoes are really hard to fit in.
Together they are now playing songs from the early years which John says are his favourite, including the full Argus album wguch is acclaimes as possibly their best work.
Blind Eye may be new on the scene but they have the quality to deliver the experience of original line up just like it was yesterday.
