Playing a rare full band show, The Tumbledryer Babies will be performing the maudlin love songs of singer/omnichord player Andrew Moore. Described by 6music’s Tom Robinson as a “prolific lo-fi genius”, Andrew has made 50 albums since 2008 and has made records with Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers, Daniel Johnston, Meat Puppets) and Kramer (Galaxie 500, Jad Fair, Jeffrey Lewis).
With very special guest supporting, Calum Baird. Baird is an emerging Scottish folk, punk and story-telling singer-songwriter and musician currently on tour around the UK.
His music is characterised by its honesty and authenticity, with lyrics that are often introspective and personal. His songs explore social commentary, modern life, relationships, alienation and social change. Calum’s influences include Neil Young, Billy Bragg, The Pogues and Dick Gaughan.
“Echoing early Billy Bragg with his dogged optimism” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
“A rising Scottish folk star” – Jim Gellatly, Amazing Radio
