Each performance consists of three one act plays, all written by Susan Glaspell. The plays invite audiences to question whose version of the truth is heard, often through sharp wit and social insight. Together, they offer an engaging and thought-provoking night of theatre.I. In Trifles, a seemingly simple investigation into a farmer’s mysterious death uncovers hidden tensions and secrets within a rural household. Through moments of keen observation, the play reveals how small details and overlooked perspectives can hold the key to understanding the truth.
II. The People follows the staff of a struggling newspaper as they navigate a lack of funding, eccentric characters, and absurd situations. Glaspell blends humor and social commentary to show how truth is shaped — and often distorted — in a chaotic world of competing voices.
III. In Tickless Time, the rejection of standardized time by a bourgeois couple becomes a lens for exploring relationships and conformity. The play’s farcical humor highlights how people reinterpret events, showing that truth is rarely fixed and often depends on perspective.
