About this Event
A documentary about the January 21,22,23 Trips Festival held at San Francisco's Longshoremen's Hall. It has historic footage by Ben Van Meter, still photos by Jim Marshall, and Gene Anthony. Interviews include Bob Weir, Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Garcia, Jerry Garcia, and organizers Bill Graham, Ken Kesey, Stewart Brand, Roland Jacopetti, and Ramon Sender. The story tells not only what happened that night but the impact it had on the evolving culture.

Director Bio:
Eric Christensen began his career working for Tom Donahue at Autumn Records with the Beau Brummels and Sly Stewart. He then went on to become program director at KSFX in San Francisco, at age 21, the youngest in ABC's history. He produced films for Bill Graham, including the Day on the Green with Peter Frampton, Lynnrd Skynnrd, and Santana. He then worked at KGO TV for 36 years as an arts and entertainment and sports producer. He retired in 2007 and went on to produce and direct documentaries: the Trips Festival, The Cover Story - Album Art, Korla, and Something in the Air (about Tom Donahue and KMPX and KSAN).
