The Trials of Donald Trump (Andrea Bernstein)
About this Event
The Trials of Donald Trump
Between his two presidencies, Donald Trump or his company were tried five times in New York courts, and in every case were found liable or guilty of the charges brought. And though trials in the United States have traditionally been crucibles for producing the truth, Trump has managed to turn the legal process inside out. Despite dozens of witnesses and reams of documents introduced as evidence against him, Trump has reframed the public story of his abuses, arguably benefited from the verdicts, and placed the entire legal process itself on trial. In this talk, journalist Andrea Bernstein, who covered all five of Trump’s trials for National Public Radio, talks about upholding truth and accountability in a post-truth world.
