About this Event

Join us for this opportunity to explore what it means to cultivate a trauma-informed church with our expert guest speaker, Dr. Lisa Cherry. Dr. Cherry will guide us through the principles of trauma-informed work and its application within church communities. In the afternoon, we will break into special interest groups (e.g., preaching, liturgy, pastoral care, children & youth work, theological education) for practical sessions on implementing these principles.

Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday 21st September, 10.00am to 4.00pm (registration from 9.30am for a 10am start).
  • Location: Westminster College
  • Cost: Free
  • Additional Info: Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
  • Open To: All Christian denominations

This event is funded by a Common Awards Seedcorn Grant from Durham University and is part of a broader project on trauma-informed churches led by Dr. Karen O'Donnell, Dr. Alison Gray, and Robin Barden at the Cambridge Theological Federation. We hope the special interest groups' work will lead to further resources and guidance.

For questions, please contact Karen O'Donnell at [email protected].
