About this Event

Join us at the Ida Green Communication Center at Austin College on Saturday, January 17, 2026 for an unforgettable night!

A rock opera masterpiece, The Wall (1979) tells the haunting story of Pink, a rock star spiraling into isolation and madness. Conceived by Roger Waters and brought to life through the band’s searing music, Gerald Scarfe’s surreal visuals, and Alan Parker’s 1982 film, this production blends live performance with theatrical elements inspired by the original album, film, and 1980-81 tour. Pink’s journey begins with the traumas that build his metaphorical “wall”: the loss of his father in World War II, an overprotective mother, oppressive schooling, and a crumbling marriage. As he retreats behind this barrier, his descent into despair fuels hallucinations of fascism and self-destruction. Through a cast of actors & performing artists portraying Pink and the figures haunting him, our rendition uses minimalistic props, dynamic lighting, and physical theater to amplify the band’s performance, capturing the album’s raw emotion and social critique. From the rebellious chant of “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2” to the ethereal solos of “Comfortably Numb” and the climactic courtroom of “The Trial,” the show traces Pink’s struggle to break free from his self-imposed Pr*son. As the wall crumbles, the story loops back to its start, questioning whether redemption is possible or if the cycle of alienation repeats. Join us for a visceral, immersive experience that blends music, theater, and raw human conflict, inviting you to confront the walls we all build.
