The Together Space November 17th Event

Join us on Sunday 17th November from 2pm - 4:30pm at Higham Hill Hub. The space comprises a portacabin (also where toilets are located), enclosed outdoor area and large white tent.

PORTACABIN (SENSORY SPACE):

This space will be inhabited by Social Cinema who present SHORT/CUT.

SHORT/CUT is a series of relaxed screenings of shorts without dialogue for disabled and non-disabled children to enjoy together in a relaxed environment.

The animations will run throughout the session with the sensory art workshop alongside it so children can choose how they would like to enjoy the experience. Whether it be sitting and watching the animations for the whole time, trying the art workshop whilst watching or doing a bit of both at different times. The screening space will be set up with mats and cushions as a free flowing space.
The workshop will focus on two different printing techniques. One that uses shaving foam and another one that uses bubbles made with a straw. We have chosen short animations without dialogue to ensure the screenings are accessible to all children attending.

We also wanted to encourage all children to engage with a type of storytelling that creatively relies on other forms of communication other than verbal, such as music, gesture and sound.

The Together Space: Focus on Fitness

Given the likelihood of it being cold and wet, we are going to keep ourselves warm by moving our bodies! Expect a variety of inclusive fitness exercises, some structured, some more freeflow to meet the needs all ages and abilities. We'll be working with Yoked Fitness, Emma Hits The Spot and keep an eye out for other fitness/movement facilitators that will be joining us!

CAFÉ

The Together Space Tuck Shop serving children's snacks, soft drinks, hot drinks and cakes from local bakery Suba! All funds raised will go towards buying specialised fitness equipment.
