Friday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. -- “THE TIMUCUA OF TURTLE MOUND” – This program will meet at Turtle Mound, one of the largest shell middens in the nation, to discuss what life was like for the people who called this place home for thousands of years. Program
leaders and participants will review how the mounds of the area were used, examine selected artifacts and discuss the science of studying people of the past. Meet at the Turtle Mound parking area or boat ramp parking lot and walk down. (Activity duration:
30 minutes)
